The Afton Natural Platform Bed by Savvy Rest

The Afton natural platform bed is made in Virginia by Savvy Rest's own skilled woodworkers. The Afton supports your sleep with timeless simplicity. Maple posts, rails, and legs are finished to your preference. Choose zero-VOC linseed oil; zero-VOC walnut, cedar or mahogany stain; or natural unfinished. No lacquers or varnishes are used.

Made to last for generations, the Afton features closely-spaced poplar slats and solid steel, mortised-in corner brackets. Each corner has three tenons for optimal strength and durability. Simple assembly; no tools required.

Extremely solid and simply elegant, the Afton is a perfect fit for any natural bedroom.

  • It's important to us that our stains are safe for our customers as well as our woodworkers who are using them every day in our woodshop. This is why we've opted for zero-VOC stains.
  • Our furniture is hand-built by our skilled woodworkers in Charlottesville, Virginia with traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery. The Afton features closely-spaced poplar slats and solid steel, mortised-in corner brackets. Each corner has three tenons for optimal strength and durability.

Smooth delivery and comfy futon mattress
First time buying from Futonland so wasn’t sure what to expect. The delivery experience went very smoothly, I got several calls to set up and confirm delivery times. The futon mattress itself is very comfortable, no weird smells (bought the Wool Wrap Cotton And Double Foam 8 Inch Futon Mattress by Gold Bond). It’s tough to fold the mattress as a sofa though, you need two people. Overall a great online shopping experience

I was a little bit nervous ordering

Excellent quality of the furniture
Pay extra for the assembly of the futon even though I found it to be expensive and still question the cost. The delivery was on time and the technicians did assemble the futon and dispose of the packaging. They did well to check final step of assembly for any missed steps or imperfections with the furniture.

Very happy with murphy bed and excellent delivery service
Our murphy bed arrived earlier than expected, in great shape and was not difficult to put together. The people who delivered it went above and beyond to help us and were very kind. We really appreciated their great service. The mattress seems comfortable and there is plenty of extra room for storing sheets and a comforter. Would definitely buy from Futonland again!
